Kylie Bisutti on Leaving Modeling Career with Victoria Secret

"Growing in my relationship with the Lord and my faith… I just became so convicted about wanting to honor my husband with my body and wanting to be a role model for younger women out there that look up to me," Kylie explained.

I thought that her position to leave her high paying job and fame as a Victoria Secret model and “honor” her husband was beautiful.  My question is what’s the difference between this and a Muslim woman covering her body?  A lot of times we see so many differences in our religions, we don’t bother to look at the many similarities.  As a Muslim woman, I also want to honor my husband and my family through covering myself. Above all I am searching for the love and pleasure of God in obeying His commandment on women to cover.

There is so much beauty in preserving what is sacred, my body, my religion and  my life are all very sacred to me.  Therefore, like Kylie Bisutti, I cover to honor all of the above.  I loved that she also added that she wanted to be a “role model for younger women out there”.  A lot of times we can’t see past our own noses, but she has and I really respect her for that.

Thank you Kylie for being a brave woman.

  1. I appreciate your perspective here. You have identified a legitimate similarity in Christian and Muslim values and morals. These similarities should provide common ground for genuine dialogue of the two belief systems. I have written a blog on Kylie's conviction from a Christian perspective. You can read it at truthseekerblog.com, if you like.
